Consul-General Chen Shijie Visits Mike Dawson, President of the Auckland Branch of New Zealand China Friendship Society

Consul-General Chen Shijie visited Mike Dawson, President of the Auckland Branch of New Zealand China Friendship Society (NZCFS), and his wife Mae Ding on 3 January, accompanied by Vice Consul-General Wang Junchao.

Mr Chen extended New Year greetings to Mr Dawson and Mrs Ding, and through them, to all members of the Auckland Branch. He thanked the branch for its positive contribution to promoting people-to-people exchanges and cooperation between China and New Zealand. Mr Chen said that China-New Zealand relations have kept a momentum of sound and steady growth over the past year. The two sides carried out frequent engagements at all levels and undergone close economic, trade and cultural exchanges. In the new year of 2025, the Consulate-General will stand ready to make joint efforts with NZCFS Auckland Branch to implement the important common understandings reached by the leaders of the two countries. We welcome the branch to continue advocating for the inheritance of China-New Zealand friendship and to contribute to enhancing the cooperation.

Mr Dawson said that the NZCFS is committed to carrying forward the spirit of Rewy Alley and fostering mutual understanding and friendship between our two peoples. The Auckland Branch is willing to leverage its advantages and share the stories of New Zealand-China friendship with various sectors in New Zealand, aiming to making new and greater contributions to deepening the friendship between our two countries.
