Q: During his current visit to Taiwan, the Dalai Lama is received by the so-called Foreign Ministry of Taiwan. What is your comment?
A: Both Taiwan and Tibet are inalienable parts of Chinese territory. The Chinese Government has never recognized the so-called "Tibetan Government in exile". We are firmly opposed to the collusion of the independent forces of Taiwan and Tibet in their attempts to undermine the reunification of the motherland. No matter what excuses that the Taiwan authorities use to invite the Dalai Lama to visit Taiwan and no matter in what form and capacity that the Dalai Lama visits Taiwan, it will be difficult to cover up the political purposes of the collusion of the independent forces of Taiwan and Tibet. It is the shared aspiration of the entire Chinese people to safeguard national unity and realize the reunification of the motherland. All attempts to separate the motherland will be met with the firm opposition of the entire Chinese people including Taiwan compatriots and Tibetan people and are doomed to failure.
