With the operation of Qinghai-Tibet Railway, more and more tourists visit the Tibet Autonomous Region (TAR). In 2007, TAR has welcomed 4.02 million people with total tourism income of 4.856 million yuan, taking up 14.2% of TAR's GDP and tourism becomes a bolster industry of Tibet's economy.
