On 4 August, Consul General Chen Shijie attended, upon invitation, 61st Anniversary Celebration of Cook Islands’ Constitution Day hosted by the Consulate-General of Cook Islands in Auckland.

In his remarks, Mr Chen extended Constitution Day’s congratulations and best wishes. He said the Chinese side stands ready to work with the Cook Islands side , implement important consensus reached by leaders of two countries and further advance the Comprehensive Strategic Partnership between China and Cook Islands.

Mr Mataroa, Consul General of Cook Islands in Auckland, expressed appreciation for Mr Chen’s attendance and looked back with pleasure on the historical roots of the bilateral relationship and the enduring people-to-people ties between the two countries. The two sides also exchanged views on enhancing communication and engagement between the two Consulate-Generals in the future.
