On 24 August, Consul General Chen Shijie attended the brand launch event for BAIC Group's ARCFOX entering the New Zealand Market. Auckland Deputy Mayor Desley Simpson, New Zealand Member of Parliament Nancy Lu, and over 50 guests from the business community and media of both countries attended the event.

In his speech, Consul General Chen highlighted China's high-quality economic development, stating that China's foreign trade structure continues to optimize, with the new energy vehicle (NEV) industry achieving leapfrog progress. Mr. Chen pointed out that cooperation between China and New Zealand in the NEV sector not only creates employment and investment opportunities, but also helps both nations jointly address climate change challenges.

Deputy Mayor Simpson noted that the adoption rate of NEVs in Auckland continues to rise and the launch of Chinese automotive brands will drive local supporting investments, boost urban economic growth, and offer consumers a wider range of green travel options.
