On 23 August, Vice Consul General Wang Junchao attended the "Cultural Echoes" Choir Concert and delivered remarks. New Zealand Member of Parliament Dr Carlos Cheung and nearly 400 guests from various sectors attended the event.
Wang noted that music is a vivid bridge for mutual learning among civilizations and an important window for people-to-people connectivity. Young Chinese in the consular district, using songs as a vehicle for cultural expression, have been promoting Chinese culture in New Zealand and making positive contributions to deepening China-New Zealand people-to-people exchanges. The Consulate-General is ready to work with all sectors in the consular district to implement the Global Civilization Initiative, promote friendly cooperation between the cultural and artistic communities of both sides, and continuously elevate the China-New Zealand Comprehensive Strategic Partnership to new heights.
At the concert, The Cloud Chamber Choir presented a selection of classic Chinese choral works, with beautiful melodies drawing warm applause from the audience.
