On 30 August, Vice Consul General Wang Junchao,  joined by the young staff of the Consulate-General, held an exchange with the Youth Section of the Shandong Fellow Association of New Zealand. More than 30 people attended the event, including Eddie Zhang, President of the Shandong Fellow Association of New Zealand, Christine Che, Honorary President and members of the Youth Section.

In his remarks, Vice Consul General Wang Junchao noted that this year marks the launch of China’s 15th Five-Year Plan. China’s continued pursuit of high-quality development and high-standard opening-up is creating broad opportunities for practical cooperation between China and New Zealand, while also providing more opportunities for overseas Chinese to pursue their careers and achieve their aspirations. He expressed hope that young members of the overseas Chinese community would remain connected to their hometowns while integrating into local society, help foster greater mutual understanding and people-to-people exchange, and contribute their youthful energy to the development of China-New Zealand relations.

The young staff of the Consulate-General also engaged in in-depth exchanges with participants at the event, shared anti-fraud prevention tips and answered questions concerning travel documents, consular protection and other consular services. The event also featured a variety of games.
