On 18 October, Acting Consul General Wang Junchao attended the 2026 annual conference and the inauguration of the 4th supervisory and executive council of the Federation of New Zealand Shenzhen Societies (FNZSS). Nearly 200 people attended the event, including Members of Parliament from New Zealand political parties, representatives from various sectors across the consular district, and FNZSS members.
In his remarks, Wang noted that with the care and support of the leaders of both countries, China-New Zealand relations had continued to advance steadily, making new progress in exchanges and cooperation across various fields. He expressed the hope that the FNZSS would continue to play the bridging role and promote closer alignment between Shenzhen and the consular district in areas such as digital economy, green transition, and scientific and technological innovation, ensuring that the benefits of cooperation are shared more widely by the people of both sides. He added that the Consulate-General stands ready to work with all sectors across the consular district to further deepen practical cooperation.
In a warm and friendly atmosphere, the event featured inauguration ceremonies for the FNZSS and its affiliated chamber of commerce, fellowship association, women’s association and youth association, as well as presentations by enterprise representatives.
